Stu "The Piano Guy"

Michael "Stu" Stoinski

Stu was born on December 14, 1972, and grew up just across the border in Illinois.  Stu spent much of his growing up years listening to music and was always fascinated with the piano. When he was 9 his parents rented a piano for a year to see if he would stick with the lessons before buying the piano. He still have the same piano today.  Stu started creating his own original music at age 11.  After high school, Stu sang and danced with several other college students at The Heidel House Resort & Conference Center in Green Lake, WI. He began solo playing and singing publicly in February, 2004 by walking into a local bar that didn't have entertainment for the night. He had some of his own equipment in the car and asked the owner if he could play in his bar for tips and beer. He agreed. Stu recorded and released his first CD, Looking for Change, back in January, 2007. Stu is a repeat for SouthFest and we are happy to have him back.

Trinity Irish Dancers

Considered an "American Treasure" by critics and enthusiasts worldwide, the Trinity Irish Dance Company has received great critical and popular acclaim from audiences throughout the world. Founded in 1991 by Artistic Director and Emmy Award-winning choreographer Mark Howard, the company continues to dazzle audiences with the hard-driving percussive power, lightning-fast agility, aerial grace, and awe-inspiring precision. Trinity transcends Irish dance to a spectacular art form that is rooted in tradition yet original and everlasting. The company has opened artistic pathways to commercial productions like Riverdance. A majority of the dancers come through the ranks of the prestigious Trinity Academy of Irish Dance, the Chicago/Milwaukee-based school, which has garnered an unprecedented 18 world titles for the United States at the annual World Irish Championships in Ireland. Don't miss this amazing powerhouse of Irish heritage and American legacy.

                 89 Mojo

Ever since forming in 1999, 89 Mojo has been one of the area's favorite rock 'n roll party bands, earning them praise such as "the perfect festival band."  Being both a DIY indie band as well as a hard-working cover band has provided the group it's successful niche. 89 Mojo's fun, energetic live show, coupled with their recordings, has built them a great fan base.  SouthFest is excited to have 89 Mojo back again to get the night off to a Rock "n" start.

7:00 to 9:00

The Karlz consist of vocalist/guitarist Todd Bowie and drummer Doug Corella. One of the duo’s primary goals is not to win anyone over with their own material (which they certainly have plenty of), but rather instead to play rousing, energetic cover versions of songs both old and new that appeal to a vast audience.  Between the two they’ve toured around the world with the likes of The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Beck, The Flaming Lips and the Verve Pipe.  Whether you’re looking for a band that can nail the funk from the ‘70s, playfully toy with disco, toss in an occasional hard rocker or party like its 1999, The Karlz are the band that will get your audience on their feet and shakin’ their money makers.
